Approximately fifty cars have been smeared with what appears to be blood from a person in the German city of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, as reported by police.
Cars, walls and postal boxes were marked, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they stated in a release.
Law enforcement report they were contacted in the late hours on Wednesday, when a man discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored fluid.
The substance had been placed in the form of a Nazi symbol, they reported.
Police then found numerous other marked cars and house walls in the adjacent neighborhood.
These symbols are banned in Germany under regulations prohibiting the public display of Nazi symbols.
Law enforcement report initial examinations indicate the fluid was most likely human bodily fluid.
"At present there remains no indication as to its source; officials are not yet cognizant of any injuries in association with the event," they stated.
Municipal representatives announced they were attempting "to unravel the case" and have requested to the community for information.
A high-ranking representative commented the incident rendered him speechless and had to be solved promptly.
"This act hits the very heart of Hanau and reopens the trauma of the extremist violent incident in 2020," he wrote on social media, recalling the murder of nine victims by a assailant targeting people of foreign heritage in 2020.
